(MRI), The basic design
of an MRI machine resembles a cube, typically measuring 7 feet tall by 7 feet wide by 10 feet long, although new models are rapidly shrinking. Computed Tomography (CT or CAT) Scans provides higher
resolution images than conventional X-rays, but generally not as
well-defined as those produced by MRI. CT uses a computer to
direct the movement of an X-ray tube to produce multiple
cross-sectional images of a particular organ or area of the
body. CT is used to detect tumors and other conditions affecting
bones and internal organs. It is also used to detect the
occurrence of strokes, hemorrhages and infections.
